Yesterday we were on the bus all day travelling from Franz Josef to Queenstown stopping at Lake Matheson for photos. We even stopped at the Kawarau bungy bridge to watch some of the bus jump. We were up nice and early for the Wellington to Picton ferry ride. Johno started the day well by being accosted by some angry chinese girl. The ferry ride on the Interislander was atrocious. The cook strait was so windy we were being bounced around all morning. It took 3 hours and I managed to sleep for most of it. Drove around the edge of Lake Taupo and then headed off for the desert road - which isn't actually a desert! We could see the edges of Tangariro National Park including live volcanoes and Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings.
