Drove around the edge of Lake Taupo and then headed off for the desert road - which isn't actually a desert! We could see the edges of Tangariro National Park including live volcanoes and Mount Doom from Lord of the Rings.
Drove through a town called Bull where some of the more imaginative shopkeepers had signs up saying 'Afford-a-bull' and 'Unforgett-a-bull'. Very weird!
We got into Wellington and saw the parliament Beehive. Me and Johno wandered about a bit and visited Te Papa - awesome museum. Mango told us a few interesting facts about Wellington - apparently some of the buildings foundations are made from bull bearings because of the earthquakes. Earthquakes happen a lot in Wellington because we're sitting on 8 fault lines!! Including the San Andreas - b*****!
