Got to Darwin a few days ago and was staying in Frogs Hollow backpackers, but it was a huge dive so we've moved to Youth Shack, much better yaaay!! Drove to Black Rock Pool for a swim and a lookout view point above Kununurra before heading to Lake Argyle to have some lunch. Then drove through another bush fire to Timber Creek, it took us ages to get to Katherine as we had to drive slowly incase a roo or cattle came onto the road because of the fire. Woke up at 5am and saw the sunrise over Uluru from much closer, it literally glowed for 3 or 4 minutes!! I can't get over how cold it is until the sun comes up. We spent most of the day driving so we could get back in time for a few people to catch the Ghan train upto Darwin. Got back to Annies and everyone decided to go out to the hostel bar for dinner. Saturday Scooter out tour guide picked us up early and drove us to Kings Canyon. We did a 6km hike around the canyon starting with an affectionately named hill called Heart Attack Hill (aaaah) It was 47degrees and 36degrees in the shade!!! Then we walked to the middle of the canyon through the garden of eden and took a dip in the waterhole!
