This morning Ryan and I woke up to our second day on the farm. The day stated once again at 7:30 with breakfast: homemade bread, jams, and marmalades for breakfast. After breakfast we were ready to being our first day of work. Ryan and I spent the morning cleaning and preparing a fruit (I forget the name...but it's like a pear) which were are going to make into marmalade later. The fruit is inedible raw and must be cleaned, cut, and cooked. We had our morning coffee break and got to relax until lunch. After lunch there was a bit more relaxing which was needed to prepare for the afternoon work.
Ryan had said earlier that he wanted to go for a run or something so that he can sweat and get a good work out. Well, today he sure did. Ryan and Martin spent the entire afternoon lifting and moving giant limestone bricks from the house, down the hill to the garden where a wall is being built. As the boys sweat it out outside, Eliane and I were in the cafe baking. I made my first apple torte today which was served fresh out of the oven to cafe guests. The boys then took a break and we all enjoyed the afternoon's Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake...well coffee and apple tarte). The boys were back to work and I began preparing dinner.
After dinner, I got to take part in Eliane's Chi Gong class. It is like a combo of yoga and tai chi focused on breathing and relaxation. It was an early night because we were both very tired. Tomorrow we get to go apple picking!

Mom Wow Danielle, seems like you found the perfect place AGAIN. Helping out around the house and learning to bake is not work at all when you love what you are doing......and Tai Chi Yoga!!!! Glad the next piece of the adventure is as enjoyable of what you have experienced so far. Bring home some recipes. Love you Mom
