We had our first day of being tourists today. We packed up our day bag this morning and with guide book in hand (thanks Aunt Carol!), we took to the streets. First it was off to see the Kaiserdom which was one of the few things in Frankfurt to survive WWII. We also went to Paulskirche which was not so lucky. This building served as the location of the first German parliament and was burnt to the ground after air bombing. Around this area we also went to Romerberg which is like the city centre of Frankfurt. We didn't stay long in this area because it was very touristy. There were souviner shops and cameras everywhere. Most of our time has been spent on Zeil, the main pedestrian street which has tons of shops, pubs, and resturants.
Lunch today was awesome. Kris recommended we go to Auroa which is a little place on a street corner serving pitas through the window. I got a hummus and Ryan had falafel with hummus and feta. This is no Pita Pit pita....they LOAD it with tons of differnt sauces, vegetables, and random pickeled things.....SO GOOD.
It's movie time tonight....movies are fun....right Greg? ;)
Maybe a museum or something tomorrow.
