Happy New Year to you all.
So New Year was a blast, we had VIP access within the barriers and it made the city seem a lot easier. We never realised how difficult it would be to move around in New York on New Years. The barriers and amount of NYPD blockades were incredible, literally on every corner. Luckily our pass paid off and we even cut through one block south of Times Square to get to our first bar.
The New York Arts Centre – Open Bar – woohoo. Megan ran straight into the catch of the night. Mr Billy Fontain – sounds like a porn star right? He was so funny, an overly confident Manhattan born and bred guy who wanted to learn the British accent so he could pick up girls… Megan loved this guy!
So we left the Arts Centre after 2 hours of free drinking, no need to say Megan was hammered – and crossed the barricade to Bryant Park Grill, another Open Bar. But on way we picked up the traditional Times Square Hat (as seen on our photos). Then onto what became our final destination – Ruby Tuesdays on Times Square – here we saw out the rest of the night with more open bars and a champagne toast at midnight.
I even got a view of the ball directly from the street. Was a night to remember...
Anyhow apart from our antics on New Year, Dan has found himself a Brazilian friend, we have spent some time in Central Park, The Upper East Side, Been to the top of the Rockefeller Centre, South Ferry (where Lady Liberty is), Wall Street, Grand Central and Washington Square.
In a change of schedule we are heading to Philadelphia today, for a reunion Megan is very happy about. Speak in a few days…
Dave, Megan and Danny
