We left Denver at 6am, as we had a huge 12 hour drive through the Rockies to Grand Junction, then through South Utah, Arizona and eventually Nevada. It became aparent that we were in trouble when we started climbing towards the Vale pass - this is around 10,000 ft and one of Colorados premier ski resorts. The road turned into nothing but snow and ice, not fun! Epecially when we saw a 4x4 sliding off the road, soon followed by another car flipped onto its side, just prior to our arrival. So it was a 15-20 mph drive for about 2 hours - tedious and scarey but definately a necessity. SWe breathed a sigh of relief once we had passed Breckenridge and Vale, and it started to ease off, by the time we arrived in Beaver Creek, we could see the road again - yey!
Vegas this time around was more of a necessity than anything else - as we had already stayed there with Mindy and Ewan a couple of months back. We had both already left "up" as they say - so were not wanting to destroy the story by gambling. We did however make one of Daves dreams come true - by staying in Caesars Palace - one of the more up market resorts in Vagas - he had been wanting to stay there ever since he first visited 10 years ago (that was pre-Wynn, Encore and Bellagio days). The room we had was tremendous - huge in size with a massive King sized bed, sit in shower, TV in the mirror of the bathroom, automatic curtains and a 66th floor view of the strip - including the Mirage Volcano, Treasure Island and Venetian resorts and Stratosphere in the distance. We were more than happy! We took it easy having a leisurely stroll down the strip and then exploring the wonders of Caears. In the morning we went to the Roman baths, and had a swim in the pools - its equisit - really does make you feel like royality especially with the robes we were given.
So our trip to North America has finished, we have been to every country except El Salvador, and its been great. We fly this evening to Tahiti and her Islands, something we have been looking forward to for a LONG time. So we sign off for a couple of weeks - knowing there is limited internet in these places and honestly because its a dream location... Speak soon
