Good evening one and all. Just as you thought you were off the spamming list, we reappear to entice you with stories of our travelling adventures and piss all of the working people off! I apologise in advance
So we are in Lake Louise, one of the main reasons we chose Canada was the pictures of the Fairmont Chateau on the Lake, and let me tell you now it didn’t disappoint! Stunning is a word I seem to use a lot in this blog, however this was beyond that. The Lake itself is completely frozen over, so much so that we actually navigated our way directly across it. Towards the end there is a huge iced up waterfall which some crazy people were climbing – Not us though I save my crazy actions to dating Megan
We actually took the hike trail up to the 6 glacier viewpoint behind the lake that was pretty mystifying… Its obviously completely covered in snow, so much so that we hiked over a day old avalanche and saw another huge one close up. The sound roared through the valley – it was like nothing I have ever heard before – deafening and slightly scary. We hiked onto one of the glaciers, which was also pretty sweet. On the way back we bumped into a chipmunk but I couldn’t tell if it was Alvin, Simon or Theodore!!!!
We also hit the slopes in Lake Louise, which was great fun until I caught one ski in a tree, the other kept going and I catapulted myself 5ft in the air and landed on my noggin. After a much disorientated ski down I was diagnosed with a mild concussion! Ooops! Anyhow I have to say Megan is becoming a real ski enthusiast, and is getting really good.
All in all Lake Louise was actually really beautiful, the hostel was gorgeous and we had a great time there. Very small though and very expensive if you buy your own food.
