went to a 2nd Maya site today - massive temples poking out of the top of the jungle. Every meter or so are big fat iguanas waddling around. You are allowed to scamper over the ruins as you please - none of your english handrails. You can even go inside some areas, though it is a bit perilous (and indian jonesy) as their are hundred of birds inside waiting to poo on your head. The buses here are quite random. took a first class one the other day that was more like an aeroplane than a bus - you had to check-in your luggage and go through a boarding gate! in contrast, we took a local bus yesterday with no method of signalling the driver to stop except banging loudly on the windows or shouting "abrir la puerta". even the locals were struggling and falling all over the place with the drivers crazy antics.
