Arrival in Mexico....

Well, after a long day of flying from London to Houston. Then from Houston to Mexico - we finally arrived in the beautiful city of Merida in the Yucatan Penisula.

Checked into an amazing hotel (see photo) which is right in the centre and has the much welcome bonus of a rooftop swimming pool.

It is super hot here, pushing around 35 degrees throughout the day, and barely dropping during the night. Took Dave all of half a day to get sunburnt all over his front, back, legs and arms - now resembles a lobster.

Met some nice Mexicans, been eating some amazing local foods in amazing resturants, tried out a few local beers and doing our best to speak the language (emily of course is fairly fluent, dave only just learning but trying his best!)

Fairly chilled out first two days (we have a long road ahead so no rush) however tomorrow we head off to Cuzama to swim in the centotes (natural sinkholes which are the only source of water in this region) will be in Merida until Sunday, then we move on........
