Day 64- 10th September
Olivia Darcey -
We wake up, another sleep-in, we head down to the jetty and see some parks and wildlife rangers, they gave me a sea animal identification book and told us about the glass bottom boat tours. Then we had to go and find some phone reception and book the glass bottom boat tour. Then we go back down to the jetty and go to wait for the boat. The boat has lots of room and has a double glazed glass so it does not smash because if it smashes then we would get wet feet and sink. The skipper was called Todd and his assistant was called Chad. Todd had a beard and was really funny and Chad was really nice. We jump on to the boat and see a new world it is full of fish and seaweed, we head out a bit more the coral is amazing colours blue, green, grey and brown. We saw a 1000 year old coral. We saw clown fish, parrot fish, butterfly fish that alway swim in pairs, Sargent major (Collingwood fish), We saw tiny weeny fish fluorescent dark blue they were Mum's absolute fave. We go snorkelling, not for me and Mum too scary but Matilda, Grace and Dad did. While they were snorkelling Todd jumped in and cleaned the glass and was blowing on it to make us laugh.
After the snorkelling we saw two gray nurse sharks asleep. There was also BIG BIG BIG fish about half a metre long swimming around the sharks. "Gee they're brave" Mum said as she took a million photos. The time came to an end and we got off the boat and said goodbye forever. After that we went to Sandy beach (Agnew favourite) and found a T-pee. We played in it while Mum, Dad and Grace went and saw the other side of the beach while they were there they saw 4 turtles. We decided to leave and go back to Yardi homestead. (Still no room at the National Park) We watch the sun go down, have dinner and go to bed.
