Day 63 - 9th September
GHD- I woke up to hear no yelling or screaming and no fighting, where was Matilda?? Mum and Dad soon Informed me that Matilda was playing with her friend who was NQR and Olivia had followed. After I had a peaceful breakfast Olivia came back crying saying that Matilda's little friend had pinched her. So I was told to go get Matilda because we were going out, of course I knew what that involved, screaming, fighting, being called the worse sister in the world and that she wasn't going to talk to me for the rest of the day, of course that wouldn't last long. After all of that drama I finally got Matilda to come. We set off to get a coffee of course Olivia and I wait for the coffee while Mum and Dad go to the super. We meet a little boy so waiting wasn't that bad after waiting for mum and dad to finish we wait for mum and dad to drink their coffees but I wasn't hanging around very long I went to have a look at Idaho and the surf shop across the road. After finding nice bathers that i am going to save up for, we head off to the light house
And guess who we see, the little boy from the coffee shop so we didn't really pay attention to the view. To the turtle centre to learn about turtle hatchlings but soon to our knowledge we were one month short to watch them hatch!! I mean we could always come back next month ;) there was a poem about the life cycle of a turtle. Off to Turquoise Bay we get there and the water was crystal blue and the sand was pure white soooooo pretty it took us a long time to find a spot to sit because mum needs to be away from everyone!! In to the clear water I go, snorkels on my face and flippers on my feet… well not anymore they hurt too much so I ditched the flipper and the water on my feet feels soo cool and is so much better then being in the hot sun. Being under the water felt like I was in a different world I didn't have to worry about any thing that happened on the surface, it was so peaceful and quiet, no sound except the crashing of the waves on the rocks, watching how the fish lived was not much different to how we interacted. after an hour in the water I got cold. running up the sand I saw my worst nightmare MATILDAS FRIEND WAS AT THE BEACH, I HAD SAID TOO MUCH TO THE PARENTS AND NOW THEY HAD COME TO THE BEACH!!!!!!!!
After just relaxing and swimming I hear the word turtle and I grab my snorkels and dive into the water following the people who said turtle but there was nothing only coral and fish so I swim off when a man got my attention and started pointing down so I swam over and looked down and there it was coral... and a camouflaged turtle!!! I followed the turtle and then the turtle followed me the turtle or 'rick' came up to breath right next to me it was so tempting to touch rick but I knew Better I was soooo excited watching a turtle rip the coral off the rocks to eat and watching him swim around was amazing but soon I got so cold so I had to get out. But after a few minute the man that first spotted rick saw him again come up for air, so I took Matilda out because Olivia was too scared and there he was again with the same mark on his shell. After a little while olivia got up her courage and swam with dad over to the turtle, but swam back just as fast she was scared of the stone fish!! After the turtle experience we left to go to the yardy homestead because we couldn't get in anywhere else after a shower and dinner we went to bed.
