As we arrived in Airlie Beach we could tell instantly that we would like it here. For a start, there were people! We checked into Magnums hostel and despite the really rude (and slow) reception staff, we thought the hostel was ok. It was a big complex that had bars, restaurants and a nightclub. The rooms were a mix of dorms and cabins and in between there were picnic benches surrounded by trees and plants.

The only downfall is that Magnums is the only hostel that doesn't pick you up from the bus stop, so once again we cursed our bags as we walked in the heat with the worry that our backs would break at any minute! We had a quiet night and the following day checked in for the Whitsundays trip =)

We arrived back at Airlie Beach after doing the Whitsundays trip and got checked back in. We ended up being in the same dorm as 3 of the lads from our boat, Jamie, Nick and Callum, who entertained us for the next few days. We got some drinks and met up with Kev and Dan, the Irish lads, and a load of other people from our boat before heading to Phoenix Bar where we were having an Atlantic Clipper After party.

Once we have eaten our free pizza and had a few jugs we all went back to Magnums for cheap drinks before heading to the local club, Mama Africa's. Callum didn't do too well, he passed out on the porch so didn't even make it out. Later that night on the way back home Sam remembered that Callum had said earlier in the day that whoever gets in first has the choice of beds (only because he had a top bunk and wanted Sam's bottom bunk), but just as Sam was just about to run to the dorm, Callum staggered around the corner, he had just woken up!

The daytimes were spent at the lagoon, being entertained by the boys who would drink goon or beer as soon as they got up. This is where we also put our own twist on water games. We were in the water heading the ball with the aim of keeping it up as long as possible, but when it came toward Sam she jumped up holding onto her strapless bikini top. Everyone thought it was hilarious and from then on it was a requirement of the game!

The next night the people from our boat, and the boys we met on Magnetic Island came to our room for drinks. Callum actually made it out this time, unlike Dani who after skyping home tried to play catch up with Sam, causing her to get drunk very quickly and having to go to bed. The dorm the next morning was a mess! Drinks had been spilt left, right and center and as we had run out of toilet roll. There were puddles of alcohol everywhere! When the cleaners came, they weren't impressed and made us mop it up ourselves and warned us if it was the same the next day we would be doing all the cleaning!

We decided that the boys were very lucky to have met us, because by doing so they were able to sample our famous fajitas and also get out of cooking for a night! Magnums ''kitchen'', wasn't up to scratch (they only had toasters and a microwave) so we went to the hostel next door and used theirs. As expected, the fajitas went down brilliantly, and we even had other people commenting on how good they looked and smelt =)
