Today we awoke and made our way to the prestigious area known as The Peak. The bus dropped us off high in the hills on Hong Kong island amongst the homes of the super rich with breath taking views of Hong Kong surrounding us. We went up to Peak Tower for some Kodak moments before having a wonder around the area. I would like to come back to Hong Kong as a tourist as opposed to a traveller and enjoy some of the experiences the "other half" have in this playground for the rich.

We returned to the street level via the Peak Tram. The steep track and single cable holding the tram in place did not seem to correlate with it's faultless safety record. At the bottom we enjoyed walking through Hong Kong Park and the giant aviary that was home to a number of exotic birds, flowing streams and improbable mini rainforest.

Despite my complaints of not seeing the kingfisher the guys dragged me somewhat reluctantly through the rest of the park where my pain was eased by an artificial lake with countless fish, terrapins and turtles.

We returned home for an early night as we have plans to go to see the "Big Buddha" tomorrow early on the morning.
