We treated ourselves to a wee lie in before catching the ferry to Lamma. We were all excited by the prospect of the third biggest island in Hong Kong as we had it on good authority from a friend of mine that it was a great chill out spot. We weren't disappointed!
We took the time to walk through the island to the beach where we relaxed in the sun. I clambered up the rocks in search of some rock pool activity. This reminded me of sone great family holidays from years past where Dad would indulge me in doing this at every place we ever went. Whilst I didn't manage to replicate our legendary catch a "blenny in a bucket" i did spend some time watching some local women in funny hats do some fishing off the rocks while the sunset.
We headed back towards the ferry port for some good eating on the jetties that sprung from the back of the restaurants before returning home to meet up with "the gang".
Rumour had it that one of the funniest things to see was the Chinese doing English karaoke. We donned our Ace Ventura style shirts and after a brief dance with some street dance buskers and "overly confident dog", to which outrageous applause from the locals broke out, we went in search of a karaoke bar. Our search culminated in a McDonalds sausage and egg McMuffin (available 24/7 in HK) and bed as all the bars were £30+ entry fees or locals only. I was secretly pleased by this as embarrassing myself on stage wasn't part of my travel plans!
