From Mataranka we headed to Katherine. We stocked up on supplies in Katherine (not alcohol though as bottle shops don't open until 2pm) and then headed out to Nitmiluk (Katherine Gorge) National Park. Mataranka is known for its hot springs. We went and had a quick look at the Mataranka Thermal Pool before setting up camp near the Bitter Springs hot springs. We went for a couple of swims in here. Our campsite was right near the river bank. We had a fire going which we sat by last night listening to the various night sounds. David is adamant he heard a croc in the nearby water. Kylie

From Bunka Bunka we headed north stopping for morning tea in Elliot before arriving in Daly Waters. We drove into Tennant Creek for a look. That was about all that was needed here. We grabbed some groceries, petrol and lunch and continued north. Bunka Bunka Station had been recommended to us as a good overnight stop (also mentioned in the Camps4). This too was another popular spot full of Grey Nomads - you need to make sure you get here early enough in the afternoon to get a spot. Kylie
