Day number 2 on the island was a little cooler than the first as we stumbled from bed about 9am. It was a little overcast with patches of sun but it wasn't going to be a shorts day. After breakfast we made our way in to Fira, the largest town on Santorini, as we had a little business we had to sort out. It was only about a 20 minute drive so we arrived and found a parking spot. We had to head first up to Avis to finish some paperwork from yesterday. That was completed pretty quick so we went to a bookings office for our next order of business. We wanted to book a ferry for our next journey to Paros which was not a problem. It did become a problem though when we tried to book the next leg from Paros to Mykonos as they don't have any ferries that transport cars. So we left it as just getting to Paros & would have a think about it. From there we wandered through the town as rain started to fall & found a restaurant for a nice traditional feed. With our stomachs taken care of we headed back out to explore the cobbled alleys. However after 10 minutes the heavens opened & the hilly streets became a river of water. We took cover for a little bit but it showed no signs of dissapating so we headed into a fish spa venue. Here Jac, Paula & I let the fish eat & massage our feet. Definately better than it sounds. We had experienced it in Malaysia but it was Paulas first time & she loved it. After our little aquarium friends had done their work we wandered to the cliffside to look out over the bay. This provided postcard photo opportunities as white buildings hugged the cliff line & donkeys wandered along trails far down below. The rain still continued to fall so we decided to save the rest for a sunny day & drove the short trip back to our apartment. The family all had an afternoon nap as I read & watched movies. The evening has been enjoyed in the spirit of the islanders, quiet & relaxed. Definately a great way to live your life.
