The day started with Jack doing his fitness training before we had breakfast and headed off for Blizzard Beach the Disney Water Park, the last of our ventures into Disney from our pass we had bought.
It was a beautiful warm sunny day getting to a predicted 25 degrees Celsius . Today was to be the pick of the days to week and why we headed for the water park.
I had had enough of rides and being without my glasses and the queasy feeling and yucky head that comes with it so I volunteered to find a beach chair near the wave pool and lie there catching rays reading and people watching. It was a tough job but someone had to keep an eye on the towels etc and sacrifice themselves. It is a mothers role to sacrifice so I stood up and made the sacrifice.
This left Adrian and the kids to HAVE to go ride the thrillseeker rides and the not so thrillseeker rides. It too was atough job and they took the responsibility and went out there and rode them once twice maybe even three times. It was great because it was not very busy so there were almost no queues at all.
One of the sacrifices I made involved seeing lots of Brazilians running around in g-strings and most of them should not have been wearing them , trust me!!! Apparently I was selfish because I did not photograph the slim bronzed looking good in a g ones!!!! How naughty of me!!!
After lunch I played the rides game and went on the family rapids ride and got wet. The good news is that it was not as cold or as uncomfortable as the day before. Then I went on the tube ride around the outside of the water park which would have been nice and relaxing if not for the bombing raids from the 11 & 12 year olds. After that I retired to the beach chair again where I took my role of looking after everything very seriously. So much so we needed to go via Books- A- Million on the way home for more reading supplies. I didn't realize that I read so many Aussie or nonAmerican authors until I started scouring the shelves here. I have ended up with an unknown author ( to us anyway ) for the plane trip home.or earlier if I finish my Diana Gabaldon before then.
Home for showers and to research through the Welcome Pack for another restaurant to try. The one recommended to us by the concierge lady was Landry's Seafood. Now there is an obviously problem with this one for moi so we hadn't bothered but while I was waiting for everyone I did some research and discovered that it also did steak, chicken and pasta. So we decided we would give it a go. Glad we did. Our waiter was an Englishman named Bob who has been here for 12 years whose daughter is off to South Korea shortly to teach English. Kate and Adrian decided to have appetizers - Kate had alligator ( which they all said tasted like seasoned chicken- Jack said it was nice and he would even order it and he is our non- adventurer in food. Adrian had stuffed shrimp enbrioche which was also to die for - apparently!!! With my entree came a side salad which was simply beautiful.the dressing was a balsamic vinegar with honey mustard which doesn't really do it for me but it was mouth wateringly delicious. Jacko had the fish and chips, Kate had a Cobb salad, Adrian had adult fish and chips and I had Chicken Romano which was chicken encrusted in Romano cheese which literally melted in my mouth. It was accompanied with angel hair pasta tossed in a garlic butter sauce with a medley of vegetables - one of which was okra. Again scrumdiddlyumptious. Jack and I opted for dessert ( so shouldn't have!!) and he had key lime pie and I had creme brûlée. Again yummy. The servings were not so huge this time and that was great. I also had two chocolate martinins ( mudslides) yumyumyum!!! And was a little more than the steakhouse but the quality was also a little more classy. Scrummy dinner, great day!!!!
