With a beautiful Kendall Jackson (K-J interestingly enough) Chardonnay in hand, roast lamb in the oven with the veges just gone in, dryer humming in the background just audible over the vent fan whirring on high, children and husband either in the gym or in the pool, I sit writing this to you. Almost like home...although if I were at home I dare say I 'd be catching up with Fi before she takes off for foreign shores.
Well, a touch of Guess (handbag), Nike ( runners, skins, etc for the gym and running ), Gap ( shirt and hoodie), Hilfiger ( shirt Adrian), Samsonite ( two huge new suitcases buy one get the seconds one 40% of and this other bag thrown in - bargain seeing as Jacks was trashed getting here thought we' d upgrade quality wise!!!), Papaya( shirt Kate), a visit to Prada, Dress Barn ( almost an outfit for Cliffs wedding but wrong size, almost $40 knee high black boots - wrong size!), Levi jeans - too hard , ad too many other shops to remember . Of course the Nike Factory was out of Free Runs due to Christmas and Boxing Day sales with none coming for two months so off to Florida Mall where we picked a pair of Nike 3.0 Free Runs up for Jack for $95, Katie hated them and she got hers at Outlet for $40 - gorgeous purple ones!!!!
Lunch in the food court was the order of the day. Katie went for her three at o's and huge sprite for $5.50 from Taco Bell, Adrian went the Maki from Japan, Jack went the foot long ham and cheese sub from Subway ( how unusual) and , disappointingly I went the Coney Island hotdog. first error in judgement. Coney island is inNY so what would Orlando know about them - nothing obviously as after e hot dog experience at the college footy this one fell way short!!
After the disappointment of no Nike free runs at the premium outlets and as I had promised Jack some we headed off to The Florida Mall where we were told we could get some. In the middle of the mall above it is an entire hotel. Although only one level the mall was massive. On our way to looking for FootLocker which, for the record, we never found we did happen upon a Billabong store where we purchased Billabong thongs ( sandals here) for $14.00, Kustoms for $16 although Kate had to get $30 ones cos of her big hoof, and I got reefs for $16... Why are we being ripped off in Australia???? Eventually we found Fit2Run who could get Jacky boy his Nike Free Runs - yay!!!
Home was on the agenda after this and the kids ( including the big one ) headed to the pools while I began the dinner. Am enjoying the peace and quiet, although was briefly shattered when they came home to get gear for gym and then set off to workout before a quick dip before dinner.
Tonight the kids need to choose the world which we will begin our week long quest to conquer the beast that is DisneyWorld. We are getting a 7 day park hopper in the morning allowing us to do 7 days if need be. We have NASA on Da 7 but can also head off to DW after if we need to. It is only $8 a day after day 5 so better to have it than have to pay squillions for another day later. Next week we will attack Universal and hopefully just the resort for the last couple of days... Adrian desperately needs to do nothing for a few days as when he gets back it will be full steam ahead. Poor thing.... Sick with a cold and having done all the driving ( brilliantly but nonetheless all the driving) he needs a rest.
Tomorrow I report in on our first world. Until then xxxxxx
