After leaving the Granites, we toured down to Kingston SE were we checked out the prices of local crayfish……mmmm we decided not to buy, then found a place that advertised delicious crayfish sandwiches… again pricey at $20, the sandwich had more lettuce than crayfish… No crays or sandwiches from Kingston SE. We then visited Robe, a beautiful seaside town, we watched a crayboat come in and deliver there catch, but you can't buy straight from the boat, after a search we found a crayfish processing company in town and bought a crayfish.
The next town we visited was Beachport, which we both decided it was the most prettiest seaside town that we have visited.
After fuelling up at Millicent, we stopped the afternoon at Tantanoola, where we caught up with Kate and Chris, who were our camp host at Ned’s Camp at Cape Range NP near Exmouth. We had happy hour with them before settling in for the night.
The next morning we arrived at Mount Gambier and had a look around the Blue Lake, the blue lake changes to the blue colour in November, so we had arrived when this lake had already changed from the grey to blue colour and was a spectacular sight.
After the Blue Lake we went to the Umpherston Sinkhole. The Umpherston sinkhole (or the sunken garden) is one of the renowned gardens on the outskirts of town, absolutely stunning. After seeing the sights of Mount Gambier we went to Ted and Jeans house and spent a lovely afternoon/evening catching up on our travels.
