For the long weekend here in FNQ we stayed in Adel Grove. Forrest like campground and stunning swimming area in the river with pontoon, swinging rope and inner tube tyres to float lazily on, another piece of paradise. The girls danced around in the little rain we experienced.
We loved the beauty of Lawn Hill National park, fantastic walks/hikes. Our highlight here was defiantly kayaking up the 6km gorge. Candeece and I used our single kayaks while Kev and Mikayla hired a canoe and had much fun pretending to be gondalla drivers! Once we'd made our way to the end of the gorge we stopped for a swim under the waterfalls had a little snack and rested watching the spitting fish! (Spitting is how these little fish, fish themselves, by spitting at insects and knocking them down to them below in the water.. Quite fascinating!) when we were ready to hop back on the kayaks and paddle back! Candeece fell in very funny for us. Our paddle back was joined by some turtles, we've seen so many turtles and I'm still in awe of these lovely creatures.
Tried my hand at homemade damper for lunch and it was Delish!
