Siena, Tuscany, Italy. 6th September 2011.
Our last day in Tuscany. Not much of a sleep in as those bells kept tolling every 30 minutes. So up for breakfast with Netty, Dawn and Catrina before taking off to see more of Siena.
This time Peter and I visit the Medicea Fort and I would have to say it was not Worth the bother! We followed this with a visit to Saint Catherine's Crypt and Church and a walk to Porta Romana, which was worth the walk as this is one of the biggest gates. We then visited the Basilica Santa Maria dei Servi.
Peter and I stepped into a supermarket to buy sone produce, no pannini as it would be nice to have a change, so this time we had a salad, olives, proscuito, octopus and blackberries (which at 1.50 euro was a bargain). We had lunch at a fountain close by.
After lunch Peter and I visited Santo Francesco, another Basilica and let me tell you I was overt them. A.B.C (another bloody church)! After a little shopping and Peter had purchased four shirts and ties we returned to out hotel to join the girls for a spuntino and a glass if local wine before heading out to dinner to "Il Masgalano" restaurant alfresco style. Nice thing about Italy your four legged friends are welcomed to eat out at restaurants.
After dinner it's back to Il Campo for some night photos before retiring for the night.
Buona Notte.
