Siena, Tuscany, Italy. 5th September 2011.
Definitely no wake up call this morning as the Bells of Santa Domenico dedicated to Santa Maria had awaken us to the day.
Breakfast at 8.00am to join our walking group for the last time and so it was time to say goodbye to Aunty Mary, Venny, Peter Finney, Rob Collins, Adriene and Ross Walker.
Leaving Peter, Netty, Catrina, Dawn and I to enjoy more of Siena. Firstly around the Corner is Saint Domonics where we see the beheaded Saint Catherine (preserved) and followed this with the Duomo (built 1136 - 1382) the Museum, The Panorama and the Baptistry.
After lunch proscuito and pecorino pannini the five of us walk down to one of Siena's gates, Fontebranda and nearby is the old water supply.
In the afternoon Peter and I have the day to ourselves and checkout the shops buying some local produce for a spuntino to share with the girls.
Dinner at 7.30pm at "Il Mascalano" restaurant, then returning to our room to finish the night off with some Siena Paneforte and Limoncello.
Buonissimo.
