ACI CASATELLO, Sicily. 13th August 2011 The morning was set aside for some sun baking and swimming with cousins Giovanna and Rosario. Let me tell you these people are fat and they still wear bikinis....hmm..Go figure! Oh yes guess what breakfast was....a granita and brosche. Returning to Acireale for lunch with Pina, Saro and Zia Graziella. Lunch generally consits of three courses, primo piatto, secondo e tertso. I keep my serves small. A Cream Limoncello to finish the meal..delicious. Similar to a bailies Irish Cream. After Lunch time for a siesta before Pina and I visit Aci Castello, a Norman Castle built in 1076 from black Lava and in 1299 was the base for the rebel Roger of Luria. The Castle was destroyed by Frederick ll of Aragon. For dinner I joined my cousin Nello, his wife Marissa and their friends for dinner at our cousin's Salvatore's retaurant "BISTROT de le Ville" Via Musumeci, 124 - Catania for a delicious Parmagian Pizza. What I like about the Sicilian Pizzas is that the bases are not thick. After dinner, which was about 1.00pm my second cousins Vera and Paola with their boyfriends and friends took me into the Massimo Bellini piazza for a iced coffee and a dolce. Iced Coffee is pure coffee on ice...no milk, no ice cream!!! For sweets I had a Panzarotti, with Vanilla Custard. Yum! My poor hips! It was 4.00pm before I rolled into my bed. Here they like to eat and go out late! Ciao.
