Outback Adventure 2019
Day 24
Coonamble - Gilgandra - Dunedoo- Home
An early start today to make the final leg home.
There were a lot of kangaroos about this morning and more emus about too . In all our driving we’ve never seen as many emus as we have on this trip - they’ve been everywhere.
It was cows though on the road that we had to stop for - a number of farmers driving their herds.
We stopped at Dunedoo to get some fresh bread from the bakery and kept driving. Stopped then at Denham for lunch.
The freeway home was a car park in a few spots which wasted 45 mins of our drive time.
We arrived home at 4pm to an excited 18 year old who has been missing us tremendously. She demanded that we leave everything and go and see the 6.30 Marvel Avengers Endgame that she has been desperate to see since it’s release 3 days ago. It’s a 3 hour move too!!
So this brings to a close another adventure. Just under 9000 kms driven and walked (8863kms).
We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the heat....but not the flies. We are all glad to be rid of those pests! Definitely traveling from May onwards is the way to go outback - but it’s then peak traveling season and there are so many more traveling with you!
Still, we did all the things that we set out to do and had a great time in doing them!
