The girls spent the morning catching up with their journals and doing some souvenir shopping (while the weather was lovely). In the afternoon we set off for Glenorchy to go Horseback riding to Paradise. Unfortunately as we approached the skies darkened and then opened so when we arrived they offered us a refund which the other 5 people who had travelled with us accepted. But the girls had seen horses and weren't about to give up. Luckily the stables were well equipped and we were soon decked out in wellies and long riding coats (I felt like a western movie extra). The ride was fantastic - across big rivers and through fields of lupines to get to Paradise. They filmed part of Lion, witch and wardrobe here as well as x-men and the hobbit and of courses lord of the rings - the woods of Lorien, Isengard and Methedras. And after 2 hours, the rain stopped, the sun came out and we had fantastic views. I think the girls will remember this for a while........
