Got up super early to get the early ferry to South Island - lucky for us poor sailors it was a super smooth crossing if a little misty so we didn't really get the super views entering the Queen Charlotte Sound. Then took the incredibly windy Queen Charlotte drive but luckily we were in no rush to get to a next destination, Smiths farm. The girls got to meet the pig, lambs goat and then we went to walk a section of Queen Charlotte track. We had the campsite almost to ourselves so we had the treat of cooking dinner in the kitchen and sitting at a real table. The girls made decorations for the van but unfortunately I managed to leave the journals behind - I asked for them to be posted so I hope they will catch up with us at New Year.
