Hello fans, even though you have all stopped writing on our message board we are perservering with our blogs. We arrived in Queenstown on Wednesday after another beautiful drive in the Hyundai. Arrived at our hostel only to find there was no parking, had to park blooming miles away - not a good start. Eventually got checked in, the room was really nice - another TV - hurrah! We have realised we have spent a LOT of money in New Zealand (on trips and activities - not beer) so to us a TV equals CHEAP nights. After checking in we headed up the Gondola, great views of the town. At the top of the gondola is a ride called The Luge - a sort of sledge with wheels going down a windy track. We got in and James sped off in his cart at great speeds. When he arrived at the bottom Clare was nowhere to be seen... She was happily tootling down at her own speed - 5.6mph, lovely. When she finally got to the bottom James had been for a coffee, took a short helicopter ride over the mountains, walked to the local shop to get a chocolate bar and back again (this is a joke for those with no sarcasm skills - Clare's mum!!). All we mean in Clare was very slow. After the luge we took a short walk around the top of the Gondola to take in the views, then hopped back on and went back to the hostel, where we precided to get our moneys worth out of the TV. The next day we took the short drive to Arrowtown. This is an olde worlde town, restored to look like it did in the 1800's. Was nice to see what life was like when our parents were growing up. Was very cute with little fudge shops. There was also a Chinese settlement there left over from the Gold Rush. We didn't find any gold though unfortunately. We drove home and again made good use of the TV facillity after having Beans on Toast for tea, not all bad though, we did garnish the meal with a healthy lump of Cheese. The next day James rode the Fly-by-Wire. Took the trip to the canyon and grilled the guys about all the celebs that have been there, such as Jeremy Clarkson (crap apperently), Jack Osborne, and mose recently the winner of Australians Biggest Loser - very exciting!! Much fun was had by Jim, not scary just lots of fun - please refer to the 15784257 photos. That night guess what we did...... WRONG. We ventured out into the town and had some drinks. We both had an amusing night, mainly laughing at all the other people. The next day was pretty much a write off - we did get to catch up on the TV we had missed though. Saw some people we were on the Whitsundays boat with in town, very strange!! Today we move on, only 2 weeks left in New Zealand :( Meeting Pattercakes Hetherton and Leah next weekend, so looking forward to that, we shall leave you with one last thing, HERBS!!
