Moved on from Nelson and took the short drive to a town called Westport. Not an awful lot to do there which was just as well because as soon as we arrived we crashed out for the afternoon! Had a really cool motel. The room was ace - and we had a TV - HURRAH! The place we were staying had a Pub downstairs where we went for tea. Had a HUGE Roast Dinner (Jim) and a HUGE Steak (Clare) for fifteen pounds!! SUPER CHEAP!! Then a relaxing night of telly. Moved on the next day to Greymouth. The weather was crap, absolutly peeing it down. Luckily our hostel had an awesome games room with Darts and Pool - all FREE!! So we stayed in there and played games most of the afternoon. That night we stayed in the communal lounge and watched Lost on a HUGE telly. Next day we were on the move again and arrived at Hokitika - no TV at this hostel :( Thought it was about time we stopped relaxing so took a drive to Hokitika Gorge, Lake Kaniere and Dorothy Falls. They were all very scenic but again was peeing it down :( We did get stuck behind some cows on the drive which we found amusing. After all the driving and walking we went back for some more relaxing - you wouldn't beleive how many books we have gone through - even Jim!! The next day we headed into town. Was quite small and not much to do. Went to the beach which had black sand - not the prettiest we have been to. Also went to the camera museum (a small cabinet in the camera shop!!). Decided to try and go for another walk, but because it had rained so much it was too boggy so we had to head home. That night we went to see some Glow-worms. Clare thought they were pretty but James wasn't too impressed! That night hung around the hostel drinking wine - literally the only thing to do!! Next stop - Glacier Country!!
