With New Zealand nearly at an end we returned to Christchurch to spend our last week back at Leah and Bills. Didn't do too much our first few days back. Clare got her hair cut and James had to go to the dentist as he chipped his tooth on a mint in Dunedin! That night Bill hosted a poker night at his house. Was a fun night although Bill won! HE did treat us all to a bottle of wine with his winnings - pattercakes does have a heart after all! The next day was very sad as we had to return our little Hyundai Accent. It did us proud! Bill had the day off so James and Bill spent the day playing computer games while Clare read Magazines and ate pastries! That night the boys and girls went off and did their own thing!! Clare and Leah went to a Kareoke bar and sang Im still standing by Elton John. A group of girls were being very rude ans talking over our performace so Leah proceeded to shout LISTEN TO US - WE ARE ENGLISH!!!! The boys meanwhile had entered a pool competition with Bills work. They got to the semi finals!! After many a beer we finally all bumped into each other, we all left after a bouncer quizzed Jim over how many beers he had had - common in New Zealand. Clare, Jim and Leah jumped in a taxi while Bill ran home - very odd! The next day we all woke up feeling suprisingly well! We jumped in the car and drove over to the little French inspired town of Akarowa. There we had lunch, lamb pies, and had a walk around. They sold the best fudge in the world there so we all stocked up before heading home. Well not before offending one of the locals by stopping right next to them, then when they stuck their head in the window zoomed off - nice Bill! Our last night we ordered Indian food and watched TV. The next morning Bill and Leah took us to the airport where we said an emotional goodbye, then it was onto our next stop - Fiji.
