Claire's Travels
Well we have arrived in our final destination for the North Island - Wellington. The Capital of New Zealand. Also known as windy Wellington and for a good reason! We had rain and a ridiculously strong wind - all good fun!!
We all headed to the national museum, Te Papa. It was free which is always nice. We wondered around the various levels but then got a little hungry so went to grab some food.
Back in South America I had promised Tash that we would celebrate her birthday somewhere else as her's had been so bad due to us being ill etc, so I thought I would do it tonight as Tara and Ben were leaving the next day.
Everyone met in the bar later and once we all had drinks I told her that tonight was her 2nd birthday - she had no idea which was cool! After a few drinks we headed out for a chinese.
Well there was no one else in the restaurant which was probably a good thing as we were a little loud! Well there were 12 or so of us to be fair. As per usual with these things far too much food was ordered...though that was down to the commity - bad organising on their behalf! After several hours of trying to eat it all....well the main dishes anyway, we felt that the six giant plates of rice were a lost cause...we headed back to the hostal bar for a dance and a few more beverages.
we soon got bored there and headed to a local bar where we remained until around 3am. We were entertained by the 'dancing girl' who funnily enough danced everwhere she went....never walked. Now thats a talent for you!
It was such an excellent night! Really gutted that we are losing Ben and Tara, but we have gained to newbes - Tom and Paddy so thats cool.
Hope you are well and enjoying your delightful weather!
