Well we have been moving down the country slowly but surely today! We stopped off on the way to Mercury Bay for a couple of walks which were really nice, including Cathedral Cove which would be so nice during the summer months...unfortunately a little cold now. Oh we also went onto a hot water beach. Basically you dig a hole in the sand and it fills with hot water! Its actually so hot that you have to add some cold sea water. The tide was coming in quite rapidly when we started to create it so the hole didnt actually last that long. While on the beach, there were also another large group of people enjoying the hot water. One guy was actually dressed in a full length leather jacket and combat outfit underneath. Obviously the perfect beach outfit! With the wind blowing his jacket he looked like a character from the Matrix! That night we stayed in a place called Whitianga. The lady who owned the hostal wasnt the most welcoming of people - it was obviously the stress of the job! Whitianga isnt the most happening of places. A few people decided to chance going out in town to a local bar. It wasnt the most successful outings. The guys got harrassed by the local leather clad women and the girls had to make polite conversation with the local men - not an easy task. Funnily enough they werent out for long! Good times!!!
