Claire's Travels
So we decided to regress back to our childhood and go to the zoo! As it was just around the corner from our hostel we thought it would be rude to ignore the little animals!
We were actually quite excited at the prospect of seeing all the animals - it has been years since I went to a zoo! However, after about an hour in there I remembered why I hadn't been for years. All the animals either looked incredibly bored or had simply gone a little crazy. Take for instance the hippo (there is a photo of this chap in the photo album section) - while we were taking a picture of him asleep, he gradually woke up and got to his feet. Now I didnt think these animals were slow by any means but I certainly didnt appreciate how fast they could move! Before we knew it he had taken off at full speed around his enclosure, which he continued to do for about 10 minutes! His little fat legs were flailing all over the show and he kept shouting (well a hippos version of shouting!) I really think he was fed up of being trapped in there. This seemed to be the general outlook most of the animals gave off. The lions, tigers etc just sat behind a bushes or high up on rocks so you couldn't see them.
Thats the problem with zoos, you always want to take the animals home with you...well not the snakes or spiders or any of those kind of creatures...but all the rest. Or is that just me?
