Claire's Travels
Hello one and all!
Ok so over the last couple of days we've gone all over the city! The parks are really beautiful here - weirdly they are full of cats! There are hundreds of them walking around. Obviously the place to hang if you're a cat!
Buenos Aires must have over 10 massive shopping malls here! It's ridiculous, especially when they all hold the same shops. You'll be impressed to know that I haven't really done a lot of shopping. I picked up a ripcurl hoody for 23 quid (so cheap!) and I've bought a ring...so not too bad!
....However we did discover two markets today. The first one was in Recoleta. The slightly more upmarket area of BA. It was full or crafts and jewellery etc. I didnt buy anything there. Then we headed to Serrano - its the soho area of BA. The market was amazing! It takes place in plaza Serrano, which is surrounded by bars and cafes. During the market, the stalls take over the bars and cafes, so the clothes are in amongst the tables etc. Really strange! We found this great stall selling bags, purses etc. The bags were the softest leather and really great shapes and sizes. I wasn't going to get one because I thought it would be really expensive but it was only 16 quid! I couldn't believe it!
Anyway tonight I think we are going to head to either a jazz club or tango club - to watch it NOT take part in the dancing! I think its best left to the professionals!
