Claire's Travels
So we have arrived in Argentina! Buenos Aires is quite different to anywhere else we've been in Brazil. It has a really european feel to it - you could be in Italy or France.
We are staying in a hostel more or less in the centre of town which is really handy and the public transport is great so its so easy to get around. The hostel has quite a strange set up. The majority of those staying at it have been there for months as they are studying or working over here. Therefore there aren't that many people travelling through like us. It feels a bit like a uni house as there's a sitting room with a tv and dvd's so its nice to be able to chill.
It's nice to be somewhere where I can speak a little bit of the language or at least understand it better than portuguese! Being away in a foreign country for so long makes you really want to speak the language because you just feel a bit useless, especially when they look at you and ask "can you not speak any spanish?!"
Today we just worked our way the city - there are some great shops here people! To make it even better (or worse in our circumstances) its really cheap! Levis are half price, leather boots etc are around 30 quid. We are a bit gutted we dont have bigger bags!
Anyway dinner calls! hope you are all keeping well!
