/9/11: We arrived in London after a short flight from Prague, then the fun started, took us about an hour to get thru border control, then we found where to catch the tube to our hotel in earls court, where we walked about 3/4 hour to get to our hotel, we should have got the train to Brompton, not Earls Court, then we would only have to walk about 2 minutes. grrr. It was hard going as my luggage was so heavy. We went for a walk around the town got some information on tomorrows tours etc. now for some tea, We went to a local British Pub calledd the Prince of Wales and shared a fish platter, Pat had a beer which cost us a total of 1.89 pounds.
/9/22: After a nice breakfast we caught the 74 bus to Marble Arch where we go onto a 'hop on hop off bus' (great value) to see the sights of London our first stop, London Eye that was fabulous took about 30 mins. then we did a cruise on the Thames to Tower Bridge, where we got another bus for Buckingham Palace (Liz wasn't home) lots of tourist around, (Japanese) the Palace, we had lunch in Hyde Park at dianna's Memorial Garden then we walked to Harrod's, ghee is that store over rated, buty I bought 3 pens.lol I got a bargain buy 2 get the 3rd for free. lol. Then onto another bus to the Savoy, we were due to have afternoon tea, but changed our minds, don't think we were appropately dresses, and boy did they give us the once over, so we saved ourselves about $60 each, so then we caught the 74 bus back to our Ibis Hotel Earls Court. Then we went back to the Prixce of Wales Pub for tea, I had a chicken and mushroom pie with chips and veggies, Pat had Beef and Ale pie and veggies and chips, plus Pat had a pint of beer cost us 19.70 pounds. Then back to the hotel to pack ready to leave in the morning.
/9/11: Caught the 74 bus agqin to Baker Street for Madame Tussaud's, totally different to when I was there 26 years ago with Mum and Mavis Russell, still an amazing place, then we did souvener shopping I bought myself a 'Police Teddy Bear' and some other bits a pieces, we then had lunch then headed back to the hotel to pick up our luggage and make our way by taxi to Waterloo Railway Station. Then we found where we had to catch the train to Andy & Jill's in Ashvale, Surry, cost us 25.40 pounds for a one way ticket. then another 10 pounds for our taxi to Andy's & Jill's just been for a loverly walk to the local pub the Swan, I had a diet pepsi, Pat had another pint, then home we are having tomatoes on toast and a cup os soup for tea.
/9/11: Got up and packed ready for our travels around England, We are taking the bare essentials. Then we went for a walk along the canal fed the swans in the canal and picked blackberries along the path, then it started to rain, so we called into the Swan for scones jam and clotted cream and a cup of coffee, cost us 6.50 pounds for the both of us. Rang Wayne this morning to find out that he had to call an ambulance to take Vicki to hospital, she collapsed while he was around there, I rang back later in the afternoon to find out she's ok, she was dehydrated and her blood pressure was very high.So get well soon Vicki and take care Well Andy & Jill have just gotten home from Andy's daughters place, so now we will get ready for tea.
We are heading for Penzance tomorrow, this is the start of our adventure touring around England, so hopefully I will have access to free wifi in Penzance. So until then. Cheers from Ashvale,Surrey
