We've spent the last couple of weeks house/dog sitting in Perth, and it was lovely to be in a proper house for Christmas to we could cook a proper Christmas dinner and skype home - even though it was really weird celebrating Christmas when it was around 35 degrees! We haven't really done anything special, it's just been good to relax and settle down for a bit, and make use of the proper internet while we have the chance. We have, however, planned and booked the rest of our trip, including our flights home. We've now got around 5 months left of travelling, but once we leave Australia we've got 2 weeks travelling around the South and North Islands of New Zealand, followed by a week in Fiji (!), a week in Hawaii (!!), a few days in both San Francisco and New York City, and finally a few days in Stockholm before we finally make our way back to Guernsey. We decided to come home earlier than planned because we didn't really want to have to work in some boring job here in Oz, and luckily we had managed to save enough to afford to book all of the trips we wanted to do, so we've got loads to look forward to before we come home and have to get proper jobs. It's been pretty hot here, it got up to 44 degrees a couple of days ago! But it's now back down to a lovely 29/30 so we've been out to enjoy the local produce in the Swan Valley and we have a few more days left of our house sit to make the most of being in Perth before we finally leave WA and drive across the Nullarbor to get to Melbourne.
