My Family Travels
Friday
I took the train over to MI from Milwaukee. I always enjoy taking the train to visit my friend Rachel. But something funny always seems to happen during the trip. This time it was my seat partner. It was so busy in Chicago that my friend Erin and I did not get to sit together on the train. So I sat with a nice looking man. I happened to be finishing up a conversation with my co-worker about our organ playing schedule for church. The man I was sitting by overheard my conversation. He asked me, "Would you be offended if I enjoy an adult beverage here on the train?" I didn't know what to say. Of course he could have a beer! Too funny! We had a nice conversation on and off during the 5 hour ride. Also the snack cart was called "Munchie Central". Nothing else really happened throughout the ride. Once we got to Rachel's we enjoyed a bottle of wine and great conversation.
Saturday
We started our day with a nice walk/run on a path near Rachel's house. Erin ran 5 miles while Rachel and I walked 4 miles. We ate at a cute cafe called Lilla's Cafe. Rachel loves to go there. We had some very yummy soup and sandwiches. Then we headed over to the winery that she works at. I love going over there. She talked us through the many wines on the list. It was a nice way to just sit and chat for a few hours. From there we headed over to Ann Arbor. We had to find some dresses for a friend's wedding for this summer. Also it was raining pretty hard most of the evening. After finding some super cute dresses the rest of the evening was spent eating pizza and watching "The Big Bang Theory". (The pizza was from Jet's Pizza. It was so yum!) I love just hanging out with friends. This trip isn't about seeing new places, it's about being with the friends that I love!
