My Family Travels
So this is the last day of my Fantastic 5 trip. Pretty sad. We've had such a fun time together. We let ourselves sleep in, a little bit, before we headed over to Nass' center. We hung around for a little over an hour talking and playing with the kids. We are definitely teachers through and through. :-) After that we went straight to Ann Arbor, home of the University of Michigan. We walked around the downtown college streets. For lunch we went to an amazing restaurant called Gratzies. This week in Ann Arbor is called Restaurant Week. Each restaurant has some sort of special going on. For $12 we got soup or salad, an entree, and dessert. Oh, was it good! Every vacation I go on with these girls, there is one really good meal. This was it! I had an amazing salad made with mixed greens, tomatoes, a really good hard cheese, and a yummy yummy vinaigrette. I had the margharita pizza (tomatoes, basil, and cheese). And for dessert there was an amazing lemon sorbet. The best part was that it was such a leisurely lunch that we didn't feel rushed and we didn't over stuff ourselves. After the amazing lunch we walked around the campus a bit. Then we headed back toward Jackson for some wine and golf! Nass loves the winery called Sand Hill winery near her house. There we got to try every single wine they make! I love wine! The owner of the winery was the one who gave us the wine. She was super nice, kinda like a grandmother. Supper was at a cute cafe where we had soup and sandwiches. We somehow got enough energy to mini-golf. That was really nice except that we got there just in time to follow an entire troupe of Boy Scouts. There were a ton of them. But they did move pretty fast. I definitely played better in Arizona than I did in this game. We finished off the night with relaxing at the apartment, talking with wine and chocolate.
