We went out on a dive boat yesterday from Port Douglas. I did a couple of dives and then some snorkelling with Lou. The dives were really good, I saw a white tip reef shark on each dive and loads of Clown Fish, Barracuda, Trumpet Fish, etc. On the dive that I missed while I was snorkelling they swa a turtle. We both saw another shark while we were snorkelling and a giant Mauri Wrasse that came right up to us to be patted.
We are as far north in Queensland as we can get now, at Cape Tribulation. You need a 4WD to go any further because the roads are that bad especially in the wet season when you have to do river crossings in the car. We are booked onto a guided night time rainforest walk tomorrow. You can see snakes, spiders, lizards, etc and Lou is a bit worried because she lost her trainers when we went rafting. She has to go in either her flip flops or going out shoes. I'm loving it because I told her she would need the trainers again but she said she wouldn't.
I don't know where we are going after here except that it will be south. We haven't planned how we are getting to Darwin yet. There is the boring tarmac road from Townsville or the other road that goes through more remote areas of north Queensland. We need to have a look at how remote this is and if we will be able to get petrol and food!
