We have spent the last 5 days travelling from Alice Springs to get back to 1770. We have done about 3,000km and spent about 7-8 hours in the car each day. Needless to say we have both been very bored and both finished another book. The only thing we have really done on the way over is stop at a place called sapphire where we went fossicking (searching for precious gems). We ended up finding a few sapphires but they are all really small. Lou wants to try to get one set in a ring but we don't know if they are of good enough quality or big enough.

We are trying to get a fishing trip booked here again. We tried here about 3 months ago when we first passed through but the weather was too bad. It sounds like to boats aren't going out now either, either not enough people or weather not good enough again.

We are going to leave tomorrow if we can't get on a fishing trip. We are going to meet Tom in Brisbane again and try to see some of the cricket with him if we can.

Not long to go now, just about a week then we will be looking for jobs and somewhere to live.
