Well we have been in Surfers Paradise nearly a week now. This is where we have decided to settle, not in Surfers but in The Gold Coast. We have spent the last 5 days travelling from Alice Springs to get back to 1770. We have done about 3,000km and spent about 7-8 hours in the car each day. Needless to say we have both been very bored and both finished another book. The only thing we have really done on the way over is stop at a place called sapphire where we went fossicking (searching for precious gems). We went to Ayers Rock and we both started climbing it but Lou only made it about 50m up then she had a panic attack and went back down. She slipped and ripped her jeans so she has a big hole in her bum now. I made it to the top, its a really hard climb, higher than the Eiffel Tower and 3.6km long. We left Darwin on Sun after 3-4 days of partying. We met a few people in the hostel and went out with them a few times. Explored Katherine for a couple of days and enjoyed a few hours in the hot springs. Visited kakadu national park it is as big as wales, so we camped on a campsite for a few days.
