We hired a boat on the river in Cairns yesterday with a couple of Germans, a French guy and a Dutch guy. We took a picnic and a load of beers and managed to finish them all off between us. we did a bit of fishing and most of us caught a few. We could have kept some to eat because they were big enough but we put them all back. The highlight was seeing a wild croc sunbathing on the riverbank. We got pretty close to it and it was looking at us but didn't move.

We booked our snorkelling and diving trip today for Wed this week. We are going from a place called Port Douglas just north of Cairns. It is supposed to have really good reef with less people and better coral and sea life. I am doing 2 dives while Lou snorkels and then I will get some time to snorkel with her as well. We are hoping to see some turtles and get to swim with them. The boat that we are going with also has a licence to let you swim with Minky Whales if they are spotted. They have seen a few over the last few days so we will be looking out for them.
