A short day of walking today but a bit messy. I met up with my 2 German friends this morning who told me that all accommodation through Momy, Morsaal and even Pau is fully booked so they are thinking of heading south and crossing the Pyrenees further down. I had planned that I would get a taxi to Momy and then walk to Morsaal before catching a us to Pau. With all these extra legs included I was not sure that it would all work. But it did. My legs were a bit heavy coming out of Momy but a big hill early on seemed to release the lactic acid and all was good from there. Very agricultural and I missed the birth of a calf by only minutes but saw Mum cleaning the baby and Dad standing by. Getting up to 34 degrees so waiting for the bus in Morsaal was hot work. When the bus came the lady driver said she wasn't going to Pau but that I should cross the road and wait for that one. 20 minutes later the same bus came along with the same driver which this time was going to Pau. Strangely enough I needed the equivalent to a Myki card but I could buy it on board with cash, got change out of 10 Euros and still have more journeys on it. Anyway had a couple of beers on arrival, checked in to my hotel and have given them all my laundry to do - yippee. I will go out for dinner tonight with a couple of beers to cool down before a day of rest in Pau tomorrow. Storms and rain are forecast so there should be interesting days ahead.
