Continued with the pack up today although we did manage a sight seeing drive to "the cliffs" north of the lagoon. Stunning white sand at low tide. The beach is bordered by grey/white sandstone cliffs on one side and aqua coloured sea on the other. Picture postcard stuff.
The manager of the park told us at high tide when the water is lapping the cliffs, all manner of marine life can be seen. As it was we spotted a turtle and some other people (from Minippa) we met said when they had a quick dip they were approached by a 5 foot shark. A very fishy place.
After giving up on our second destination, Pebbly Beach, because the narrowness of the track was resulting in serious scratching of Hanno's Cruiser on the thick scrub lining the track, it was back to camp to finish off the packing.
Carol and I splashed out today and booked ourselves into a flight out to the Horizontal Waterfalls. Not cheap but includes seaplane flight and overnight accommodation on a house boat. Looking forward to that one in a few days time.
