Next stop in Banff National Park had us exploring two lakes- Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. Moraine Lake is not as easy to access by shuttles, so it is a little less crowded. It was by far more beautiful too! The hike (really just a walk) was around the perimeter of half the lake. Just enough to see the amazing blue water. Danny took a break (aka stood still while we walked ahead), but then snuck up on us! He was there when we reached the end where he and Ryan could climb rocks together.
Lake Louise was much more crowded...like bus loads of people. There was a lovely hotel right on the lake (where earlier in the morning a grizzly bear and her cubs were eating dandelions!), and then the hike to the Lake Agnes Tea House, serving tea since 1905 7000 feet in elevation. It was cold and rainy, Danny wasn't interested in the hike any more, Ryan helped out by keeping him going, and Fred walked every step with him. All so Tricia could have tea and brown bread! It was worth it...days like this are what make vacations memorable.
