Stayed in Scott, Louisiana long enough to take an airboat tour of the Atchafalaya Swamp. We had an interesting Uber ride over to the swamp, the driver went the wrong way into a rotary and was confused when I said we were from New England.
Anyway, the airboat ride was fun, very loud! We traveled through the swamp filled with cypress trees and Spanish moss, and lots of beautiful birds. Our guide was quiet... he only stopped twice to give us any details about the area. But the second time he stopped, we knew why- the alligators were right there. They connected the boat with an easy snack. The guide fed them right from the bow, right next to Ryan and Danny. We saw about six right then. The largest was probably 6 feet. We saw a couple more in the water on our way back. We saw lots of great scenery and animals during the trip, nothing quite like the swamp though!
