What I forgot at the end of the last blog was that we had a restaurant booked for lunch yesterday. The Pot Luck Club is a top CT restaurant and, as is all the range these days, serves tapas type dishes. So you choose as many as you want, write them on a list and they are served to you in the order that is best. We chose 6 and shared each one. So, if I can remember, we had:
Fish tacos
Crispy calamari
Fish sliders (fish in a steamed bun)
Springbok carpaccio
Asparagus with a Parmesan crisp
Smoked beef fillet
Each one was served with or in a really tasty sauce/dressing and the asparagus came with a cheese custard! All this was served in a restaurant on the 6th floor of an old silo with views of Table Mountain. Pretty good!
Yesterday was hot. The temperature was up well over 30c and lasted into the evening.
News on Andy’s knee. The original knee has now improved and is pretty much back to normal. However, just before we went out yesterday the other one went. He’s a disaster! He wasn’t doing anything in particular, just walking to the pool so now he’s back on Ibuprofen, wearing a support and hobbling like the old man that he nearly is! .
This evening we are due to go to the cricket T20 SA v AUS at Newlands but we shall have to wait a bit longer to see if his knee is capable of the walking required.
