Cuba - More than old cars
Not a really great day today with a forecast for rain. We thought we would visit our first coastal town of Cornwall - Falmouth. It was the perfect day to visit the National Maritime Museum which had a really diverse collection including a temporary (2 year) section on Viking Voyagers and their activities, lifestyles and inaccurate stories about them - like they did not have horns on their helmets.
After the museum we had to find another car park as after our time was up in our Pay and Display carpark we were not allowed to top up or revisit the car park for a number of hours. Not sure how they monitored this but as the car park was full and cars were hovering for positions decided we did not want to risk the Pds50 fine. After we found another one close buy we made our way to the town and walked the quite long main road along the shoreline.
The next day we headed off to the Eden Project. This is a large garden which used to be an open cast clay pit which took 6 years to morph into a garden with dome structures etc. Needless to say it is quite amazing and has gardens representing many countries in different climates. It still has some ongoing development but is amazing just as it is. We visited a similar site in Singapore last year - Gardens by the Bay which has a domed Cloud Forest and others. Although there are many differences, which makes both worth visiting, we wonder if the one in Singapore has been modelled on the Eden Project.
Some of the photos have been taken from the top of one of the domes which we were able to walk up to - many steps to get their and quite warm once there.
