This morning we woke to a 21 gun (canon) salute from the ceremonial area of the Acropolis directly above us. This heralded the beginning of Greece's National Day. Today we left Athens for Singapore. Today we travelled in the bus with the first stop being the Don Deak Local Market. Not another local market you say; well, this one was a bit different in that it was the first one we had visited to have Prahok fish paste commonly known as Cambodian Blue Cheese. Our alarm woke us at 0345 and this was followed by a backup phone call from hotel reception.
